It will be much darker and much of the details will be obscured by the
shadows when the final piece is finished.

Found this doodle from over ten years ago.

Here's one of a series of studies I did several years ago when I was thinking of doing a short FLASH animation. It involved a barbarian type fighting a bunch of sword-fodder-to-bes. I used simple bold swipes of ink with a brush to make it easier on me.

I'm looking forward to that animated RED NAILS feature that was announced awhile ago.
It credited the contributions of artist Michael Kaluta.
