
Here's the pencil sketch that was sent to TOPPS for approval. It was eventually
colored and rendered in ink at actual trading card size. The art then went through
an etch foil process in printing, so the art was designed to have a defined outline
and colors that worked best with that process.
The cards debuted this week.
The set is chock full of renditions by various well known LOTR artists.
My favorite printed cards were done by artists Drew Struzan and Mark Chiarello.
Due to other commitments, I was not able to get involved with the sketch cards this time around.
However, some really nice cards were done.
The originals for the six cards I drew for the etch foil process were also included in the
trading card sets. So far, I believe only one has been found.
