Another sketch of a licensed character trying to snag a wi-fi feed for his mobile computer from an adjacent commercial building.

Back in the late '80's and early '90's I was making art that were not intended for print. Basically stuff for my own amusement. Mostly assemblages and collages. It was a good contrast to the monthly commercial 'pencils only' work I was doing at the time for comic companies. It allowed me to research and discover various mediums and broaden my creative interests.

The sketch above brings in some of the actual objects I made together. All layered and piled on top of one another. I suppose this is a thumbnail of sorts of these pieces .

It probably makes little sense to anyone else, but hey, it's Saturday!

Unused rough using some close - quarter sword skills.

An arm destruction, tendon cuts and hooking with the blade.
I work out fight sequences this way when I choreograph live events for stage or film.
I got accustomed to working in this manner, because this is how I took notes when I first started training in blade work.

These days when I'm involved with projects that utilize a lot of CGI or mo-cap work, it allows a much smoother transition between two departments - stunts and animation.
